The Hillsborough Raider Wrestling team will hit the mats on Dec. 16 at 6:00 p.m. when it opens the season against Scotch Plains. Under new head coach Ronald Dolenti, the team is eager to get things underway.

Dolenti coached wrestling in Pennsylvania for the last eight years prior to coming to Hillsborough.

This year’s captains, who are expected to lead the team both on and off the mat, are Michael Dooley, Josh Villa, and Nick Pezza.  Other wrestlers excited for the season to begin are Anthony Donnadio, Kevin Faulkner, and Kevin Quabeck.

Being a fist year head coach, Dolenti expects each individual to show improvement in each match as the season progresses.

“I’m ready to get into the season and start competing, and being able to see what we can do,” Dolenti said.  “I’m tremendously excited to be a Raider.  I’m ready to continue the strong tradition that coach Molinaro was able to establish.”
