On May 24, Moe’s Southwest grill opened its doors for hungry customers in Hillsborough. As part of a grand opening endorsement, the restaurant owner offered free burritos for a year to the first 50 patrons in line. Two of our very own took this opportunity and ran with it.

Juniors Matthew Fodera and Braden Stack started their adventure in the parking lot the night before opening day. Joined with a posse of others waiting to claim their reward, a line in front of Moe’s formed and soon tents and chairs were comfortably housing customers.

Thirteen hours of waiting in their two-person tent didn’t go quickly, but making conversation with the others in line helped pass time, and those first 50 felt it was worth it.

“I always go to the Moe’s in Franklin and am so glad this one opened in Hillsborough,” Fodera said. “The camp out was worth it. I’ll be enjoying free burritos for the next year.”

Moe’s will be continuing their traditional menu options of Burritos, Bowls, Salads, and Tacos. Steak, Chicken and many other fresh ingredients are available for selection, as well as vegetarian choices too.
