Popeye’s coveted chicken sandwich returned to restaurants across America on Nov. 3.  Ever since the chicken sandwich sold out earlier this year, fans have been craving the highly praised Popeye’s delicacy.  The hype around the sandwich has certainly created high expectations, a debate between the rival fast-food restaurant Chick-Fil-A, and various chaos.  Leaving people asking the question, is it really worth it?

The simple sandwich has created all kinds of madness, and people have been taking their cravings to a new level, as recently a man was stabbed to death outside a Popeye’s in Prince George’s County in Maryland.  According to WUSA9 CBS, two men were in line and got into an argument and 28-year-old Kevin Davis was murdered at the scene.  Not to be downplayed, the recent murder was not the only horrible thing to happen because of the desired chicken sandwich.  There have been brawls, car accidents, and more.  All because of a $4 chicken sandwich.

Regardless of the destruction done by the sandwich, people have been debating between what’s better?  Popeye’s or Chick-Fil-A.  The two powerhouses of the fast-food industry have been going at it, and even the workers have had opinions on the discussion.  In a recent interview, one of the Popeye’s workers crowned Chick-Fil-A as the superior restaurant.  Though the debate is still up in the air as various chicken sandwich fanatics are still arguing.  Sophomore, Evan Adinolfe, took the side of Popeye’s.

“It was exquisite,”Adinolfe said. “It best the sandwich I’ve had in years.”

Popeye’s has continued to make news and drum up noise all around their chicken sandwich, whether it’s good or bad, the media has heard about it.  You tell me, is Popeye’s chicken sandwich worth all of the hype?
