It is now December and it is time to get into the holiday spirit! A special feeling fills the month whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or any other holiday. Everyone is a little bit nicer and the lights seem a little bit brighter. This list will help you easily get into the holiday mood!

  • Listen To Music
    • Make a playlist of all your favorite holiday songs. If you have Spotify or Apple Music, you can search for holiday playlists that are premade by other users. These can come in handy if you don’t have time to make your own. If you are unsure which songs you want to include, a premade playlists will give you ideas for fun new holiday songs! Some classics include; It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas by Michael Bublé, Last Christmas by Wham!, Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let it Snow! by Frank Sinatra, and All I Want For Christmas by Mariah Carey.
  • Bake Some Sweets
    • Once you make your holiday playlist, drive to a store to pick up some baking ingredients. Pillsbury’s “Ready to Bake” holiday cookies require little effort and come with several options for decorations including Santas, snowmen, reindeer, and more. If you want to bake sweets from scratch, buy all the necessary ingredients for your favorite holiday recipes and set aside enough time to prepare and bake your treats.
  • Decorate Your House
    • If you already have decorations from previous years, unpack all your trinkets and designate a day to decorate your home. You can also make a day out of it by going to stores and buying some new decorations! Once you’re ready, go home, turn on your holiday playlist, and decorate your house for the holidays!
  • Watch Holiday Movies
    • Another way to get into the festive spirit is by watching your favorite holiday movies. Get cozy with warm blankets, bundle up in your favorite fuzzy socks and sweatpants (for best results wear Christmas/holiday pants), make a cup of hot chocolate (Christmas/holiday mugs are recommended), and get a plate of the holiday treats you baked (popcorn and other snacks are also a good choice)! Pick your favorite holiday movie, some classics include How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Santa Clause, Elf, Home Alone, Christmas With the Kranks, and many more. Bonus holiday points if it is snowing outside!
  • Go Shopping For Presents
    • Shopping for presents to give to friends and family is a great way to feel the holiday spirit. Going to the nearest mall and shopping around for gifts will also give you ideas for your own Christmas list. To avoid overspending, make a list of all the people you should give gifts to and set a budget for each person. Make sure this budget is realistic!!!  Experiencing the decorations in the mall, festive music in the stores, and all the holiday-themed products will boost your holiday spirit instantly.
