When people think of Australia, they think of Kangaroos and dry, hot and humid outback. Many adore the the many cute animals located within the country like Kangaroos, Koalas and Wallabies. Although the country itself is a tad isolated from everything else, which means a long travel than usually.  However, the travel and expenses are all worth the experience especially when it is to get away from everything and enjoy a little vacation.

Everyone believes Australia is strictly just the outback but all of the Eastern part cities like Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney all are compared to a smaller,  but a nicer New York City. Sydney, the capital, is known for its bridge and fireworks on New Year’s Eve located in the harbor.

City exploring and playing with the animals is not the only thing to do in the amusing country. Along the top right region, also known as Queensland, the Great Barrier Reef is located right off the coast. The reef brings enjoyment to travelers eyes with its beauty and exciting sea life swimming around in the water.

The amusement is not only in the water when it comes to this extraordinary country. Located in the dry lands off of Brisbane, there are sand dunes where people are allowed to sand board down a steep hill. All the person needs is a flat wood board with a little bit of wax applied before every turn; water is recommend because it can get a little hot in the  hot sun.

Many tourists favorite part is interacting with Koala and Wallabies at some zoos. Located up on the Northern part of the country is where the smaller koalas live and roam. The state of Queensland is the only state where people are allowed to hold and hug the koalas. However in the southern parts, like New South Wales, the Koalas grow bigger. Due to the Koalas being bigger in the south, they can not be held in people’s arms but only touched or pet by the visitor at the zoo.

Australia does not have only animals that attracts people but also one of the seven wonders; the Sydney Opera House. The unique structure and location of the the building presents its beauty to all and attracts more people than ever. There is a tour where people can see the inside the Opera House and even get a history lesson about the building and how it came to be.

Rachael Levonaitis went on the family trip this past winter break and shared her thoughts about the journey. “The experience was outstanding and absolutely stunning,” Levonaitis said.”The country it beautiful and I recommend everyone visits Australia at least once in their lifetime.”
