After a bumpy start to the season, things have not gotten better for the girls soccer team during this year’s campaign.

Taking on Montgomery, Pingry, North Hunterdon, and Hunterdon Central, the girls had an extensively difficult road ahead right in the middle of their season.

Their first game back from a two game road trip at Bridgewater and Phillipsburg, the girls took on Montgomery in their second home game of the year.  A tight game throughout, Hillsborough was tied at halftime with Montgomery, thanks to a goal from junior Sophia Iovino, one of the team’s star underclassmen who has played on the varsity team all three of her years.  Though unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to get the job done, as Montgomery put one in the back of the net to bring them to a 2-1 victory.

Next on the girl’s schedule was the always competitive Pingry, North Hunterdon, and Hunterdon Central, where the girls unfortunately could not put the ball in the goal in the past three games resulting in their fourth consecutive loss of the year.

It’s been a rollercoaster of a season thus far and hopefully the team can bounce back with a win over Franklin at 10:00 a.m. on Oct. 31.
