Coming off a strong win last week, the Raiders tackled the Hunterdon Central Red Devils on 30 Oct. This spooky senior night, on the eve of Halloween, was an exciting match for fans to watch in the stands, or from home on the live stream. Before the match, seniors from the football team, cheer team, and the band were honored on the field before kickoff at 6:30.

The boys completely demolished the Red Devils on the field finishing with a score of 42-14. The Raiders showed up and gave an exciting performance for their final regularly scheduled home game of the season. Junior Jay Mazuera led the team offensively and had another impressive game as the starting quarterback. With a total of 74 passing yards and one touchdown, Mazuera gave his throughout the match.

Senior Sean Levoniatis left everything on the field against Hunterdon Central with a whopping total of 161 rushing yards in 10 attempts and three touchdowns throughout the game. Levoniatis put the Raiders on the scoreboard early in the first quarter with an amazing touchdown which he ran in from 74 yards away. Junior Thomas Amanakwaa followed Levoniatis’s lead and scored the Raiders’ second touchdown of the game off an 87-yard run. Both touchdowns were complete with a kick from senior Vaughn Colva.

In the second quarter, Mazuera furthered the Raiders’ lead with a touchdown run from four yards. Levoniatis continued powering the score by running in a touchdown from 25 yards out followed by an additional 33-yard reception touchdown from Amanakwaa less than 30 seconds later. Levoniatis picked up his third touchdown of the night on a 21-yard run in with 22 seconds left in the first half.

Although neither team scored in the third quarter, the Raiders kept up their impenetrable defense and prevented the Red Devils from closing in on the scoreboard. The boys ruthlessly maintained their lead throughout the game and left everything they had on the field securing a very well-deserved victory.
