On Nov. 13, the Hillsborough Raiders tackled long time rivals Bridgewater Panthers. With a well-deserved 49-14 victory over the Panthers, the Raiders put everything out on the field for their final home game of the season.

Junior Thomas Amankwaa put the Raiders on the scoreboard early in the game with a 69-yard interception return in the first quarter. Amankwaa set the precedent for the Raiders early in the game with this intense play and scored again in the second quarter after receiving a pass from junior quarterback Jay Mazuera and ran it in for a touchdown. Amankwaa worked hard on the defensive end as well as totaling two interceptions throughout the game.

Senior Sean Levoniatis is the backbone for the Raiders and works hard to keep the team together on and off the field. Levoniatis never fails to amaze the crowd and this game was no exception. Levoniatis rushed a whopping 177 yards during the game in 15 attempts and scored three touchdowns for the Raiders.

Mazuera saw another successful game during the matchup against the Raiders’ rivals and threw for a total of 127 yards in 17 attempts with nine completions. Mazuera ran the Raiders’ offense seamlessly allowing his teammates to be successful which was shown by the scoreboard.

As the team nears the end of a season that many weren’t sure would even happen, they prepare to face off against Edison on Nov 20.
