In the final matchup of the 2020 season, the Hillsborough Raiders took on the Edison Eagles on Nov. 24. The final score was 49-50 and although the Raiders fell short, it was definitely a game to remember. Going neck and neck through all four quarters, the boys truly made the most of their final moments on the field together this season.
Junior starting quarterback Jay Mazuera had another phenomenal game racking up his last stats of the year. By the end of the match Mazuera passed a total of 122 yards in 14 attempts with one interception and eight completions. Looking back at the season as a whole, Mazuera threw for an impressive 959 yards total and totaled 13 touchdowns in just eight games.
Junior footballer Thomas Amanakwaa also did his best on offense by receiving 42 yards in just three attempts coupled with junior Will Dixon’s 31 yards in two attempts. The duo fought hard on both offense and defense to keep the Raiders in the game the entire four quarters.
Taking a look at senior superstar Sean Levoniatis, some might say this was his best game yet. Levoniatis rushed for an impressive 252 yards against Edison. Levoniatis led the Raiders offensively with three touchdowns combined with touchdowns from juniors Tyler Michinard and Dixon and senior Aidan Lugo. Throughout the shortened season, Levoniatis carried the Raiders with a season total of 12 touchdowns and a whopping 868 rushing yard total for his senior year.
