During the holidays many places around the tri-state area do their best create an experience that encompasses the full potential of the holiday spirit. Many people put on shows and sing songs but the country’s favorite seems to be putting up a light display for all to see and enjoy. Depending on the individual, people will go different limits to express their love of putting up Christmas lights.

However, there is one show that will catch your attention and make you think Christmas lights are the best entertainment around this time. Down the shore, you can drive to PNC bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey to enjoy a spectacular thirty minute drive by light show. The show has been going on since Dec. 8 and continues all the way to Jan. 2 displaying insane light shows with many different shapes and characters involved.

The whole time your’e viewing these lights, you are within your vehicle driving by each section of lights. The trip starts off with a concession stand where you can buy snacks like popcorn or cookies along with a cup of hot chocolate. After that stop, the excitement begins. As you turn the first corner you enter a gigantic field of lights lit up showing different designs like Disney princess Rapunzel in a castle, polar bears playing baseball, and even a fire breathing dragon blowing out moving fire.

Attending the event for HHS alumni Rachael Levonaitis was worth while. When asked about her favorite part of the light show she came out with a nice short sweet response.

“The light bridge by far,” Levonaitis said. “The bridge was spectacular with all the designs they did with it and how they made the lights flash different color and patterns as we went through. It was truly amazing.”

Driving through the whole course took about thirty minutes, but every single second, and every single light was worth the look. The creativity and the imagination the creators posses is truly incredible. Out of all the light shows I have attended, and all the light shows I have enjoyed, I would certainly say this was my favorite and most enjoyable by a landslide. If I had to recommend one location to point someone in to obtain the holiday spirit, this is the place.
