The Lady Raider Lacrosse team has jumped right into action! The team is full of both returning experienced players as well as young newcomers looking to make their mark this season. With last season being canceled due to COVID-19, the girls are eager to make this season one of their best yet.

The team is led by head coach Kristina Dunphey a former HHS girls lacrosse player. With her immense knowledge of the game and ability to empower her players, the girls are more than prepared to conquer the competition.

The team this year has incredible depth as they have talented defensive and offensive players. Returning seniors Grace Venis, Mia Boccippio, Olivia Halverson, Erin McCrea, and Alexa Ciccarelli are expected to be assets to the offensive unit. Additionally, sophomores Grace Toth, Gabriella Roosa, and freshman Katie Sanfilippo have made an impact on the offensive line. Toth, in particular, has impressed with 7 goals and 5 assists so far in the first five games.

The defensive line is perhaps the team’s greatest asset. Seniors Jennifer Koval, Megan Wilke, and  Kathryn Marshall have held down the defense ensuring that the crease is protected. Junior keeper Rylie Masi is holding down the defense as she communicates to her defense and directs their movement.

So far the team is 4-1. The girls have dedicated their preseason training time to make sure this season stays a winning season. For the seniors, this year means everything as their time as part of the team was unfortunately cut short. With the team’s determination and talent, the lady raiders are sure to come out on top.
