As the winter sports season wraps up and the athletes prepare for the spring, HHS Varsity Baseball prepares for another jam-packed season. This year, Hillsborough Baseball has 12 seniors all looking to end their High School careers with a state championship.
Now in his fourth season as Head Coach of the Hillsborough Varsity Baseball Team, Matthew Mosko shared his outlook for the season. “Our goals for the 2025 season are to compete against some of the top teams in the state of New Jersey. We always have the goal of playing at TD Bank Park for our County Tournament and hosting a state tournament game. Putting the best team on the field to give us the best opportunity to win should set us up for a lot of success this season,” he said.

The senior class is just as enthusiastic. “I am looking forward to one last season with some of the kids I’ve been playing baseball with my entire life,” Alex Reiling, a senior in his final season. Senior Krish Patel had a similar perspective. “ I’m looking forward to competing with my teammates that I’ve grown up with one more time,” he said. Meanwhile, junior Kyle Simonitis offered his perspective. “I am hoping to learn from the seniors this year and use what they taught me for next year’s season. Also, we want to end the year with a dog pile for the championship just like coach keeps telling us,” he said.
The team has already been off to a great start posting a 3-1 record just one week into the season. The boys play next against conference rival Bridgewater-Raritan at Bridgewater-Raritan High School, on April 9th.
