Congratulations were and are due to the elected members of Hillsborough High School’s Freshman Executive Board. The results of election, that took place at the beginning of the school year, were announced with five students chosen to represent the Class of 2029: Advit Agarwal, Joey DiNuzzo, Savannah Juzwa, Ashley Micheal, and Ava Thomas.
The Executive Board has been and will continue to work alongside advisers, Mrs. Nicole Rokozak and Mr. Thomas McDevitt to represent their class throughout the school year. The board is tasked with organizing class, events, fundraising and acting as a voice for their peers. Student council also brainstorms school spirit days for each grade to earn points for spirit night. One of the biggest events the board is tasked with is organizing Spirit Night for their grade. Meaning they oversee the class theme, the mural ideas, the dance, and the video. The election process saw an extremely strong competition with many students campaigning to make a positive impact in the high school community.
“We are so excited to get to work and be able to get everyone involved, ” said Advit Agaarwal. “Our goal is to make sure every freshman feels involved, and we can’t wait to start planning some amazing events,” said Ashley Micheal.
For the newly elected members, the election was not just about winning; it was about the opportunity to serve their classmates. Many of the class cabinet expressed a desire to make the transition to high school as smooth and enjoyable as possible for everyone.
“We are incredibly proud of all the students who ran for a position,” said Rokozak. “We’re looking forward to working with this group and seeing all the great things they’ll accomplish.”
