Dubai Chocolate Cookie
The classic Dubai Chocolate flavor, which rose to fame in 2023, has featured in the weekly Crumbl cookies three times: as a brownie, cheesecake, and cake. The Dubai Chocolate cookie was the most delicious cookie I have tried from Crumbl so far. The base of the cookie was almost like a brownie, but more decadent with addition of the chocolate chips. On top was the creamy pistachio kataifi filling, along with a hardened chocolate layer. The cookie had a hard exterior when I bought it, which I didn’t like because it was challenging to break the top layer. On a positive note, the cookie correctly resembles Dubai Chocolate and the filling inside, with pistachio cream and kataifi, was really rich.
Strawberry Crumb Cake Cookie
The Strawberry Crumb Cake Cookie resembled the flavor of strawberry cheesecake. The cookie itself was a sugar cookie with a sugar cream cheese frosting on with strawberry cake crumbs. I don’t know if it was my particular cookie, but the cookie was a bit raw. Not because it was super soft, but it was very thick, and I could almost taste the raw flavor of flour. However, the frosting on the cookie was good because it was whipped cream cheese with strawberry flavoring. This was a good cookie, but it was definitely underbaked.
Brown Sugar Cinnamon Cookie
The Brown Sugar Cinnamon Cookie is a very well known flavor, and it consists of a sugary cinnamon cookie with a cream cheese cinnamon frosting. The cookie tasted similar to a snickerdoodle, but with a thick consistency. The cinnamon flavor was strong, but it was a bit too sweet for me. On top, there was a crumble of brown sugar cinnamon poptart. This cookie and the Strawberry Crumb Cake Cookie were not warm and tasted raw and doughy, but it was hidden by the tons of sugar added.
Peanut Butter and Jelly Cookie
This might be the most unique flavor of cookie I had ever tried. The cookie had a strong peanut butter after-taste along with peanut butter frosting and mixed berry jam on top. The cookie almost tasted like a Nutter Butter cookie, but more soft. The frosting was a bit too runny and had a very overpowering peanut butter taste. It would’ve been much better if there was an equal ratio of peanut butter to jelly.
Overall, the cookies were somewhat above average and could have some improvements. Most of the flavors, especially the Dubai Chocolate Cookie will return due to its high demand. It also is my favorite cookie out of all the choices this week. Some cookies can be less sugary, since they are very overpowering and can be baked more. It may be that my visit coincided with a day when the bakers may have taken the cookies out of the oven too soon, making my experience a half-baked one.
