Girls Basketball
Since their season opener 53-33 win against Princeton Day School, the team didn’t stop there. These girls gave it their all, owning a 21-7 season record all the way up to the 2026 NJSIAA Group 4 Girls Basketball Central Jersey Championships. They fell short in an exciting game against Franklin High School 52-41.
Ranked among the top teams in the Skyland Conference, Hillsborough placed fifth. Junior captain Isabella Ruh had the overall strongest stats this season.
Boys Basketball
Hillsborough foreshadowed their amazing year when Princeton Day School lost to the boys team 67-41. A final 22-8 season record took them all the way to the 2026 NJSIAA Group 4 Boy Basketball Central Jersey Championships. They dominated Old Bridge, Freehold Township and Jackson Township High School, earning over 70 points and leaving their opponents in the dust,but fell short to Montgomery High School 55-47.
The team ranked fifth overall in the Skyland Conference this season, with sophomore Aaron Feath earning over 500 points for the team.
Ice Hockey
Despite having a rocky start to their season the team didn’t let up, closing with a season record of 13-11-2. Some phenomenal shutout games over the course included Hopewell Valley (5-0), Cranford (5-0), Northern Highlands (2-0), Watchung Hills (5-0) and Southern Regional High School (7-0). Hillsborough played in the 2026 NJSIAA Boys Ice Hockey Championships,but fell short in the quarter finals against Basking Ridge 2-1.
Standing at fourth in the Skyland Conference demonstrates a powerhouse team this season. Sophomore Danny Lernerman made over 600 saves as the goalie.
Girls Swim
Hillsborough ranked first in the Delaware division and second for the overall standings in the Skyland Conference. The team had a perfect 9-0 season record until the semifinal round of the 2026 Girls Swimming NJSIAA Championships against Bridgewater-Raritan High School, losing 86-85.
They dominated the competition every meet utilizing student athletes senior Dylan Briones, Tammy Leng, junior Emily Sudol, sophomore Marielle Colipano, freshman Olivia Kay, and Megan Wishnow.
Boys Swim
It was no surprise Hillsborough was ranked second in the Skyland Conference this season. Every meet they attended was in their favor. Going above and beyond to have scores that doubled the opponent. Their season record of 10-2 demonstrated the determination and athleticism these students have.
Senior John Eodice, Gavin Grouser, Tiago Granados, junior Mete Ozbas, Luke Sudol, and Josh Cetin were the leading students that helped Hillsborough this season in a diverse number of events.
Girls Wrestling
As one of the newer teams at Hillsborough that began in the 2024-2025 season with only three athletes, they showed that dedication and teamwork can make a difference. The team grew immensely in numbers and finished the 2025-2026 season with a record of 14-5. They were able to establish an official girls team and really separated themselves from the competition.
At the 2026 NJSIAA Girls Wrestling Championships senior captain Charlida Cimino won 7th Place in her division and finished her time at Hillsborough with 87 career total wins. Junior Maria Imhauser won third place in her division as well as a region champion title.
Boys Wrestling
The team faced many difficult opponents this season but persisted until the very end earning a season record of 7-21. They had some phenomenal wins when they faced Montgomery (36-34), Hunterdon Central (43-33), and Princeton High School (42-29). Hillsborough attended six overall tri meets (three teams facing each other) and quad meets (four teams facing each other) were long days where athletes had multiple matches a day.
Earning 5th Place at the NJSIAA Wrestling Championships, Senior Nick Duarte earned 108 career wins during his time at Hillsborough. He currently holds the title of Somerset County Champion, District Champion, and Region Champion.
