Justin Bieber’s “Purpose” a huge hit
December 2, 2015
A recent chain of events have lead the public to become not-so fond of Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber. The tabloids have displayed Bieber’s wild antics and provided he public with an inside scoop on his relationship with singer Selena Gomez. Things seemed to be going downhill for Bieber, until now with the release of his new album, “Purpose”.
The album, which was released on Nov. 13, shows a new, more mature side to Bieber’s music. Bieber released the single “What do you mean?” back in August, which was his first No. 1 song on the Billboard top 100. This single set the stage for Beiber’s full-album release. Beiber’s next hit single from the album, “Sorry”, made its way up the charts, reaching No. 2 on Billboard’s top 100.
The album features several songs co-written by Skrillex and has tracks featuring hip hop stars Big Sean and Travis Scott. The album features a blend of genres ranging from dance, hip hop, and R&B. This album, which is Bieber’s fourth studio release, shows a more mature and grown up side to Bieber.
Bieber was inspired to write many of his songs after his relationship with Selena Gomez ended. The album has many mellow songs, but still contains aspects of dance music. With his growth as a musician, “Purpose” has helped renew Bieber’s image and expand his fan base. He is no longer the teen sensation that he used to be, but now a polished musician with something to actually say.
With all the positive reviews, “Purpose” has been a huge hit so far and has rejuvenated the young singer’s career.
