Young Thug’s “Slime Season 3” might be the best of the trilogy
March 30, 2016
Rising from the depths of the rap world, Young Thug dropped the final album to the mixtape series know as Slime Season on Mar. 25. Thus, his latest album is known by SS3 or Slime Season 3. Young Thug couldn’t have released a better all around album to display his thugger persona.
Songs such as “With That” and “Check” off Young Thug’s freshman album, Barter 6, set the tone and vibes which have continued with each successive mixtape and album release. Now, Young Thug as reached the point where each release is met with high expectations. Fortunately, Young Thug has yet to fail to deliver the goods.
The song, “With Them,” establishes a gangster ethos that is maintained throughout the album. Don’t be mistaken, this album isn’t all party music. Instead, Young Thug includes tracks which showcase his softer side to the world. One such song is “Worth It”.
Also, to find differences from Slime Season 3 to other Young Thug albums is impossible. Actually, his momentum and vibe is similar throughout his work, but the new release has benefited from some careful editing as no song is a throwaway track. Personally, it makes the album more enjoyable as you won’t find yourself skipping over tracks to get to the hits. This is Young Thug’s sixth project in a year which is absolutely outstanding for mainstream artists. In the cluttered hip hop world, this artist is keeping it very clear and concise which no other musician has been able to accomplish. Overall, 2016 is the Year of Thugger.
With the conclusion of the much loved Slime Seasons, some might conclude this would be the end of Young Thug. This would be a mistaken conclusion. Young Thug could possibly drop four more albums/mixtapes since his work ethic is absolutely cut throat. Under the wing of Birdman, Thugger will have a presence in the music industry for the next decade. The trilogy of Slime Season my be over but will never be forgotten. Shoutout Thugger!
