BFH is back and prepared for a new season. Last season was the first in many years in which the team earned 10 wins, and the squad hopes to accomplish more this year. The team has big shoes to fill as many key players graduated last year.

“From last year to this year, we lost key players from each position,” said interim head coach Barrie Foley. “We lost Melissa Nobile as left forward, Gianna Napoletano in the midfield, and Rhiannon Acetta on defense.”

Although there are many players who have left, freshmen Katie Kozimbo and Payton Altman are new offensive threats that will help the team to victory.

Some strong returning players include seniors Dakota Seidel and Kate Donnelly on the forward line, senior Sarah Spence in the midfield, and senior Courtney Neary on defense. The team hopes that their strong lineup will help them continue to improve their record.

Their biggest strengths this year are their hustle across the field, communication, and teamwork. Hopefully, these aspects of the team will help them defeat their toughest competition on the schedule, Bridgewater-Raritan and Pingry.

The team’s current record is 1-3-1, with a win over Watchung Hills, a draw with Hopewell Valley, and losses to Bridgewater-Raritan, Vorhees, and Ridge.

Despite the rocky start to the season, the team still has time to turn it around.

“There is a lot of potential for the team this year,” Foley said. “They’ve already grown as a team, and we just need to keep moving in a positive direction.”
