BFH has hit a rough patch, as they lost both of their games last week. On Tuesday, they lost 4-0 to Warren Hills, while on Thursday they lost 6-0 to Hunterdon Central. Their game on Saturday against Phillipsburg got cancelled due to the start of the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex County Tournament.

In the team’s defense, Warren Hills is currently fourth in the state and undefeated, while Hunterdon Central’s record is 5-2, only losing to Warren Hills and to Ridge by one goal. After last week’s games, BFH’s record is now 1-5-1. Hopefully, the girls will be able to turn their season around after the games this week.

For the week of Sept. 26, BFH will be playing against more evenly matched competition, which will hopefully result in a win. Today, the team has an away game against Pingry at 3:45 p.m. Pingry’s record is currently 4-3-1, losing to Bridgewater-Raritan, High Point, and Hunterdon Central, while drawing with Montgomery.

Some key players from Pingry the Raiders will need to contain this week include sophomore Josie Jahng who has scored seven goals so far this year, senior Amanda Celli (6 goals), and senior Mary Pagano (4 goals).

“We need to apply what we do in practice to our game-play and work as a team in order to win,” senior Courtney Neary said.

On Sept. 29, BFH has an away game against Montgomery at 4:15 p.m. Montgomery’s current record is 2-4-2, with losses to Warren Hills, Bridgewater-Raritan, Hunterdon Central, and Vorhees, and drawswith Phillipsburg and Pingry. Some players that Hillsborough should keep a close eye on are sophomores Trisha Pimenta and Kylla Przekop, who have both scored four goals so far this season.

Come support the team on the road as they try and battle their way back to victory.
