As the season begins to come to a close, many field hockey festivities will take place. The first event took place on Thursday, Oct. 13th. On this date, the Senior Night game, where seniors Kate Donnelly, Lisa Myers, Courtney Neary, Sarah Spence, Dakota Seidel, Allison Tucker, Tara Wattle, and Jacqueline Salandra were honored. Festivities began prior to the 6:00 p.m. home game against Ridge, where the seniors and their parents were recognized. The game ended in a tie after overtime, the score being 2-2, with goals scored by Salandra and Myers, and an assist by Donnelly.

A reception was held at the concession stand after the conclusion of the game, where refreshments were served. During the reception, interim head coach Barrie Foley gave a few words of encouragement to the seniors for their future after high school. “Good luck with your plans for after high school, but never forget your field hockey family; come back to visit,” Foley said.

The next event takes place on Oct. 20. Against visiting Pingry at 3:45 p.m., the field hockey team will be decked out in pink to show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness. In addition, throughout the month of October, the field hockey team will be collecting donations for the Resource Center for Women/Safe & Sound. From now through Oct. 20, donations of new, regular sized health and beauty products, such as toothpaste, deodorant, and body wash, will be accepted, and much appreciated. There will also be collection boxes at the field during home games for donations.
