Our Hillsborough Raider football players competed in a tough game against Ridge, but fell to the opposition 44-20.  Despite the loss, the boys played their hearts out throughout the game.

“That’s what we learn sometimes from these games,” head coach Kevin Carty said.  “Sometimes you don’t win every single one, even when we give it our all.  As long as we continue to give it our all, I think it’s going to turn our way more often than not.”

From junior Matt Moore to senior David Amankwaa, the two executed an outstanding 80 yard touchdown on a third-down play.

“Even though they weren’t able to pull through for a win, they never gave up and gave it all they had,” junior Lenah Chedid said. “I’m excited to keep cheering on the team throughout their season.”

Junior Charles Amankwaa had a big interception, and a strong return, showing the boys full effort throughout the duration of the game.

Carty stresses to the team to always stay humble, yet confident going into, and coming out of games, no matter what the result may be.  Having the resiliency to rebound after a loss is vital to a team’s success.

“We’re ready to do our best this Friday,” Carty said.  “It’s important to be ready to play our best game every week.”

Carty is confident that his players are ready to tackle tonight’s game against Hunterdon Central.  Come out at 7:00 p.m. under the Friday night lights to support the boys!
