There was plenty to cheer about last week when the Raiders topped Franklin 43-10.

The Raiders football team played an exciting game against Franklin High School last Friday, resulting in a 43-10 victory.

The game was jam-packed with exciting plays.  Senior Jake Pollak tallied two touchdown catches and junior quarterback Matt Moore had three touchdown passes.

Junior Tyler Boatwright had a few long runs towards the end of the game to put the game out of reach. Seniors Matt Hendrix and Greg Alboum both got in the end zone, scoring for their first times this year.  Senior Roman Tatevosov also made a field goal. During the first quarter, senior Jacob Lubas intercepted a pass.

“So many different guys contributed,” head coach Kevin Carty said.  “We took care of business offensively and defensively, making a lot of big plays.  It was great.”

This Friday night our boys will be playing away at Montgomery High School. The Cougars enter this week’s game at 3-5 on the season.

“They play hard, and have a good defense,” Carty said.  “We’ve lost to them the past two years so this is a really big game for us.”

Being the last game of the regular season, the boys are preparing to play their hardest.  Playoffs begin the week after this for Hillsborough, so our first round of playoffs will be played next Friday.

“It’s hard to tell who we’re going to play in the playoffs,” Carty said.  “We have to wait and see who wins and loses some games.  We may play Freehold Township, Old Bridge, South Brunswick, or Piscataway.”

Come out and support the boys as they play their very last regular-season game against Montgomery!
