The Raiders football team entered every game with confidence and finished with another winning season.

Last Friday, our Hillsborough Raiders played their very last football game of the season.  Facing Old Bridge in a high stakes playoff game, the Raiders came up short and lost 34-21.

Having one first half touchdown and a touchdown pass from junior Matt Moore to junior Jackson Parham, the players had a nice drive to get them in position.

Unfortunately, Old Bridge had a good jump start to the game, and were able to move the ball well. There were some costly turnovers, which put the boys a bit behind on the scoreboard.

During the second half, our defense tightened up, holding Old Bridge to only one touchdown.  The boys then got an interception and began moving the ball very well.  Getting to the end zone was not an easy task playing against Old Bridge’s though defense.

Junior Tyler Boatwright had an 80-yard run to finish the third quarter, getting the boys closer to catching up to their opponent.  Senior Greg Alboum had a touchdown at the end of the game, leaving the score at 43-21.

Coach Kevin Carty is deeply proud of his players and their achievements this season.

Until next year, Hillsborough football coaches and returning players will continue to work hard, prepare for their future football careers, and recuperate for the 2017 season.
