The boys basketball team is working hard to maintain an impressive record. In conference, they are currently 4-6 and the team is continuing to improve their overall 6-12 record. On Jan. 19, Hillsborough beat Franklin with an impressive score of 48-41, but it hasn’t been an easy ride of late.

In the win over Franklin, senior Steven Rudd scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while junior Matt Moore netted 10 for the Raiders. The boys also earned an impressive, 47-33 win over Raritan.

Junior Jackson Parham led the team with 12 points, five rebounds, three steals, and two assists. This was a special game because it was Montgomery’s annual Coaches Against Cancer Tournament.

The team has also been competing with rivals Bridgewater, Hunterdon Central, and Ridge and although they haven’t ended up with a win, they have impressed both other teams and their schools.

“Every high school team goes through a drought, and the good teams will fight through it,” Parham said.

It is comforting to know that the boys aren’t done fighting yet. For those who were in the school, the varsity boys team of 2015 defied all odds of their losing record to end up claiming a state championship. Hillsborough is known for many things, and giving up is not one of them. Keep working hard boys!
