Project Grad Fashion Show Brings Sartorial Swagger and Raises Funds
April 6, 2017
On March 24, Project Graduation held its annual fashion show. Dozens of seniors sported tuxedos and evening dresses, showing off their looks on the runway in our school’s auditorium.
Students were able to get their hair and makeup done by local salons. Days prior to the show, girls were also able to pick out dresses from sponsored dress shops, while the boys found tuxedos.
“I am so happy that I participated in the fashion show,” senior Erika Ravioli said. “Getting dolled up for the event with all of my friends was unforgettable, and got us all excited for prom. I loved walking on the runway, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity that the class of 2017 will never forget.”
Hundreds of fans came out to support the senior class, cheering on their friends and family. A raffle also occurred prior to the start of the show giving audience members the chance to win cash and prizes.
“Watching all of my friends rock their suits and dresses on stage was awesome,” senior Jordan Kang said. “Everyone looked great, and it was all for a great cause.”
The money raised from the event all went to Project Graduation for the seniors this year. Project Graduation occurs right after commencement when the senior class travels to Dave & Busters to participate in an unforgettable night of fun. In order to fund the event, there are many fundraisers throughout the school year to help raise money. Events such as the fashion show are the perfect way to raise money and awareness all while having a good time.
“I was glad I could participate in the fashion show because I was able to have a good time with my friends, and at the same time help raise money for our last hoorah, Project Grad,” senior Anand Patel said.
Overall, the Project Graduation Fashion Show gave this special group of seniors the chance to have an unforgettable time wearing fancy dresses and tuxes, all while simultaneously doing great things for their grade.
