Spirit Night is now less than a month away, and as the day gets closer and closer, school spirit amongst the grades keeps getting bigger and bigger. For freshmen, Spirit Night is a brand new and exciting thing, so The Voice compiled some tips on how to survive and thrive throughout the exciting day!

  1. Buy your grade’s spirit night shirt! You’ll regret not having one the day of when literally everyone in your grade is wearing it, except you. It’s also a cool thing to look back at all of your shirts throughout the years once you’re a senior.
  2. Get to school early on Spirit Day! The commons is buzzing with activity and the different floats will be on display. This is a good time to take pictures of the float and mingle with friends. Additionally, the murals will be completed for your viewing pleasure as well.
  3. Get involved! It’s not too late to get involved with your grade’s dance, video, float, chant, mural, or any of the physical events on Spirit Night.  Figure out who’s in charge of those events, and volunteer your help! It feels amazing seeing the final product of what you contribute on Spirit Night.
  4. Get to your designated door to enter the gym early! If you get there right when the doors open, you’re guaranteed to be stuck in the back of the gym. Also, wear shorts and liberally apply deodorant! It will be hot in the gym, unfortunately.
  5. Most importantly, have fun and be safe! Make the most of the day, and make smart decisions. The day was made for us to show our grade and school pride as well as to have fun, so let’s keep it that way!
