Spring Break Day Trips Suggestions

by Brooke McCormick

Spring break is a great time to visit the Big Apple. It’s the city that never sleeps, after all.

Now that spring break is just around the corner, many HHS students are packing and preparing for their vacations, while others are excited to be able to stay at home and catch up on their sleep. For those who are not going on vacation, there are still many fun things to do during spring break that are close to Hillsborough.

Since the weather is going to be nice next week, going into New York City with friends or family is something that students can do. There are many things to do in NYC including shopping, seeing a Broadway show, or going to a museum. For those who do not wish to spend any money within the city, walking through the city and sightseeing is an option for you.

For those who are unable to travel to New York City, a cheaper and closer alternative is Philadelphia. Even though NYC is hard to get to, you are still able to experience the city by going to Philadelphia. Things to do besides walking around Philadelphia include visiting its many historical landmarks Independence Hall or the Liberty Bell. Other things to do in Philadelphia include going to the Philadelphia Zoo or the Franklin Institute.

For those students who are unable to travel long distance, but still want to go out to enjoy the nice weather, Princeton is the place to go. Downtown Princeton is where many can go to shop or eat. If you are not looking to spend any money, you can occupy your time by walking around the beautiful Princeton University campus.

If none of these day trips appeal to you, simply hanging out with friends within Hillsborough can be a fun time if you make the most of it. Furthermore, for those who seem to run out of things to do during the break, support your fellow students and attend the various sporting events that will be taking place throughout next week. Whatever you choose to do with your time during spring break, remember to have fun and stay safe.
