October 16, 2017
Autumn has arrived and the sweet smell of apple cider is quickly filling the air. As the temperature begins to steadily drop, people all over town are looking for fun fall activities to keep themselves occupied.
One of Hillsborough’s fall favorites is the Fall Festival at Norz Farm located along South Branch Road. The festival opened Sept. 9 and runs until Nov. 4. It offers a variety of activities for people of all ages; however, most activities are directed towards adolescents and young children.
One thing Norz Farm offers is the popular pumpkin picking. Their vast pumpkin fields provides visitors with an array of varying pumpkin sizes. To get to the fields, Norz offers a hayride for their visitors to enjoy as well. The farm itself is full of a variety of animals for young children to observe and visit in their stalls. There is also a Farm Stand and Market.
At the stand, visitors can learn “do it yourself” seasonal crafts and purchase baked goods. They are also able to buy a number of fall favorites at the market such as apple cider among other treats and delicacies.
Throughout the farm is an endless amount of photo opportunities as well. Comedic cardboard cut outs and the beautiful open land are everywhere and can hardly be missed.
Another fun feature Norz offers is a corn maze. It is one of the farm’s favorites and many visitors return year after year to conquer the maze. The maze, if linearly laid out, would cover over 2 miles.
The Scare Farm is an additional fall favorite. On specific dates, Scare Farm provides its visitors with a haunted hayride, creepy hallow, and other experiences. The employees dress up in frightening costumes and makeup to give the guests a night to remember.
All together, Norz is one of many fall favorites of Hillsborough and offers a variety of activities day and night that embraces autumn traditions.
