Halloween costume ideas for 2017
October 23, 2017
As the number of days away from Halloween becomes smaller and smaller, people everywhere are scrambling to find their costumes. To make it easier on those who may be in need of assistance, here are multiple ideas to help ease the Halloween stress.
The easiest way to figure out what to be for Halloween is to emulate one of your favorite characters from any popular TV show or movie from 2017.
Costumes destined to be seen at every Halloween event this year are the characters from the popular film adaptation of Stephen King’s IT. Many will roam the streets as Pennywise the Dancing Clown, making it one of the most popular costumes of the year.
If dressing up as Pennywise requires too much effort, there is also the option of going as one of the seven children from “The Loser’s Club”. A “Loser’s Club” costume requires you to dress like a child from the 80’s while also incorporating an aspect of one of the characters’ defining features; an example of this would be wearing an arm cast if you were dressing up as Eddie Kaspbrak. By dressing up as one of the Loser’s Club members, you are able to put in minimal effort while still being on trend.
If IT is not your thing, there are many other movie characters to choose from. This includes going as Peter Parker from Spiderman: Homecoming. Spiderman is back in style as the film was one of the most popular movies of the summer. With that being said, this costume requires little to no effort as wearing the hero’s iconic suit will be enough to get the point across.
On the other hand, Wonder Woman is also back in style as her film broke records at the box office. Wonder Woman costumes are sold at the majority of Halloween stores, so not much effort is required to become the heroine. Even if you are not interested in purchasing either costumes, both homemade Spiderman and Wonder Woman costumes will look great.
As the new movie is set to premiere in December, Star Wars characters continue to be a hit costume. Dressing like Rey, Finn, or Kylo Ren is made easier as now costumes are sold at a majority of Halloween stores. If you are not interested in spending a lot of money, these costumes are also able to be created at home as many tutorials can be found on the Internet.
If movies are not your thing, there are many TV show characters that you can choose from. With the release of season two occurring four days before the 31st, the kids from Stranger Things will again be a Halloween hit. Like the “Loser’s Club” costume, dressing up like a Stranger Things character requires dressing like a child from the 80’s while also adding some unique accessories to ensure that your character is distinguishable from others.
Another TV show that has become wildly popular over the past year is Riverdale. Express your love for the show by dressing as if you walked straight out of an Archie comic. This costume applies to both girls and boys as there are a wide variety of characters to choose from within the show.
If none of these ideas appeal to you, there are many other popular shows, movies, and celebrities to choose from that will make just as great of a costume. If you would prefer to be something more simple and classic, the Internet is sure to spark some inspiration within you. Whichever costume you pick, be sure to have a fun and safe Halloween.
