Hillsborough Rocks is a group that allows people of the township to add some color to the community and stay connected. The group began this summer, and has been catching a lot of popularity around town. In just five short months, the group is steadily attracting more and more members.

As a member of Hillsborough Rocks, one can choose to paint a rock and hide it somewhere around town. There’s no limit to what you can do with your rock, and this allows lots of creative elements to be used while decorating. Places such as parks and other recreational areas in Hillsborough are hot spots for finding rocks. If you stumble upon while searching, you can post a picture on the club forum. Once you have a rock you can either hide it somewhere else, or keep it and hide a different rock. This also encourages getting outdoors and doing something fun with the family.

History teacher Caryn Brogan joined Rocks at the beginning of the summer. At first, what was just a fun activity for Brogan to participate in with her family, Hillsborough Rocks quickly became more than that. As part of the Government and Politics elective that Brogan teaches at HHS, an assignment was given to help give back to the community. She had each student in the class all paint rocks and join as members of the Hillsborough Rocks. Now, 23 unique stones are hiding somewhere around town.

Hillsborough Rocks is a community driven group, which strives to add some artwork around our great town. The opportunities for creativity are endless and so are the adventures that the Rocks bring. If you are looking for something to do with your friends or family, don’t sleep on the Hillsborough Rocks.
