The Dreidel, the toy for the masses on Hanukkah.

Lindsey Baum, Staff writer

It’s the most wonderful time of the year- snowflakes dance in the air, holiday music pipes over sound systems everywhere, and joy fills the air. While Christmas is often given the title of the provider of all of this joy, there is another important holiday transforming the climate of America: Hanukkah.

While Christmas is unarguably the best holiday of the year for art such as movies and music, Hanukkah certainly boasts a bevy of fun entertainment or media options. Read on to find the best options for Hanukkah-themed fun.

MOVIE- FULL COURT MIRACLE

In this 2003 Disney film, a group of Jewish schoolboys get a former college basketball star to coach their struggling school team. As the team rapidly improves under his tutelage, their progression to a league contender echoes the miracle of Hanukkah. This movie is a heartwarming tale, with solidly mediocre acting to complement its strong plot.

TV SPECIAL- A RUGRATS HANUKKAH

The Rugrats, a classic children’s program, wonderfully blends the past and present in this Hanukkah special. While focusing on the story of Hanukkah, while also featuring the Rugrats babies, this special provides both education and entertainment.

Coming out in 1997, this Hanukkah Special remains one for the ages as it translates perfectly to all generations of mischievous children.

MUSIC- “I HAVE A LITTLE DREIDEL”

A Hanukkah classic, “I Have a Little Dreidel” is a joyous song to provide a lively background for any Hanukkah party. With this playing in the background, one can fry up some latkes, play some Dreidel, and eat some Gelt with the holiday spirit flowing through his or her veins.
