Boys Hoops seeks first win tonight
December 19, 2017
The boys basketball team hosted Phillipsburg for their season opener last week, but came away with the loss. Despite a stumble out of the gate, the team has high hopes with 11 seniors returning and first year head coach Scott Kallens expecting big things.
Phillipsburg came out hot in the first quarter of Friday’s contest, outscoring the Raiders 21-4. Phillipsburg’s Chris Mann consistently forced the Raiders defense into tough situations. Hillsborough senior Jackson Parham was the only player to pose an offensive threat. Parham netted 15 of the team’s 40 total points. Senior Aron Lauan had a promising eight points off the Raider bench. Junior Dylan Boczon also helped out the Raiders with six points in the defeat.
Kallens and his players will look to grab the first win of the season tonight at 7:00 p.m. against Bridgewater-Raritan. The boys will be home all week and play host to Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
