The Post hit theatres locally on Jan. 12. It has been selling out all over the nation and is a contender this award season.

Starring Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks, The Post chronicles American journalism during a turbulent time during our history. The story follows the editor (Hanks) and publisher (Streep) of The Washington Post, who struggle with covering American secrets that have been revealed in the Pentagon Papers. The movie was directed by Steven Spielberg. 

A perfect balance between enlightenment and entertainment, it ecompassses several key events and figures in American history while also giving the audience a riveting show.

Hanks does a terrific job playing the role of a gutsy and straight shooting editor who cherishes the freedom of the press.

Streep is also fantastic portraying a publisher who is forced to make difficult and unselfish decisions. The two are a duo that further brings to life a fast-paced and suspenseful film.

Whether you’re a history buff, a supporter of the press, or just a person looking for a good movie, The Post is the movie for you.
