Millions of people worldwide visited their local movie theaters over the weekend due to the release of Avengers: Infinity War on Friday, April 27. The film follows villain Thanos’s quest of acquiring all six infinity stones, and the Avengers’ efforts to stop him, in order to prevent him from wiping out half of the universe’s population.

The movie stars the world’s favorite heroes from both the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy, the two groups joining forces for the first time in order to save the universe. Despite only being out for one weekend, Avengers: Infinity War is already breaking box office records as it amassed $250 million in ticket sales over the weekend, surpassing Star Wars: The Force Awakens for the highest opening weekend of all time.

For me, Avengers: Infinity War lives up to all of the hype surrounding it. One of the best aspects of the film is how the directors are able to incorporate each movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe into one film. On the other hand, this puts those who have not seen every other movie at a disadvantage as they will not know many of the intricate details.

The movie being 2 hours and 40 minutes may come off as too long, but the movie itself moves quickly, and never has a dull moment; the length does not feel as long as it appears as audiences get so immersed in the film that they lose track of time. Although I do not want to spoil the ending, I will mention that it is one that will be unexpected, and will leave many audience members in tears. See Avengers: Infinity War in order to discover the fate of the Avengers, and The Guardians of the Galaxy,  and whether or not Thanos succeeds in his quest of finding all six infinity stones.
