On last season’s “The Bachelor” Arie Luyendyk and Becca Kufrin were thought to live happily ever after after he proposed on the season’s finale. The two women left were Kufrin and Lauren Burnham; however, after weeks of being engaged to Kufrin, Luyendyk left to pursue a relationship with Burham, leaving Kufrin heartbroken.

Kufrin is now the star of this season’s “Bachelorette,” looking to find love yet again.

The new season premiered on Monday May 28 with a two hour special that consisted of an introduction to the new bachelorette, notable limousine entrances, and the first rose ceremony of the season.

As seen in past seasons of the “Bachelorette,” a few daring men decided to take their first impressions to another level. David’s Chicken costume, Mike’s cardboard cutout of Kufrin’s ex Arie, and Blake’s ride in on an Ox were some of the most memorable first impressions.

Once inside the house, male model Jordan was prominently featured for his witty one-liners and criticism of other contestants’ outfits. He stated that he spent six hours picking out a suit and specially heeled shoes so he would look and sound like a gentleman.

Contestant Blake also distinguished himself in his conversation with Kufrin, as the two discussed their shared childhood experiences.

However, the coveted First Impression Rose went to Garrett, after he taught the Bachelorette how to fly fish in the pool of the Bachelor mansion. Afterwards, he presented her with a bedazzled fly as a keepsake.

HHS students are raving about the entertainment value of the franchise, now in Season 14.

“I like that there’s always something going on,” junior Ahana Rathod said. “The drama and constant conflict are enticing.”

Sent home at the end of episode were Chase, Joe, Darius, Kamil, Christian, Grant, and Jake.

The next episode airs tonight on ABC and features the first dates of the season.
