Demi Lovato is out of rehab again. She reportedly left the rehab facility where she was admitted almost three months ago. Over the weekend she was photographed leaving a restaurant on Saturday night where she had dinner with a friend.

The 26-year-old singer has been in rehab ever since she was discharged from the hospital following her life threatening overdose at her LA home this July. After recently completing 90 days in the treatment facility, sources say that she is ‘happy and healthy’, and working toward turning her life around.

Lovato was expected to be in rehab for several months, working with an addiction specialist who is based in Chicago. It is unclear if her release is directly connected to her 90 days sober. Though it is a milestone, reports suggest that the release was temporary. TMZ reported that she went to dinner at Matsuhisa restaurant in Beverly Hills, where she was seen smiling and undeniably enjoying herself and her company.

Lovato has had many struggles. Issues with her mental health go back to her Disney days. For many years she hid her problems from everyone, and appeared the “perfect” Disney star and teen role model. She has faced hardships with her self-identity, and aims to persevere beyond them.

Lovato has advocated for more recognition and attention for mental illness over her career. One of her most notable actions was speaking at the 2016 Democratic National Convention, where she took to the stage to give an impassioned speech about her life with bipolar disorder. Lovato wants the topic of mental health to not only be a a topic of concern in our society, but a topic that is conversed about so that people living with mental illness feel empowered to discuss their issues and seek help.

About 450 million people in the world suffer from mental health related issues. It is significant that people who face these issues seek help and guidance to sustain a healthy lifestyle.

Regardless of her past struggles and obstacles, Lovato is taking another step on her winding road to recovery. The singer is staying strong and wants to regain a sense of who she is again. She will be continuing her treatment with the same rehab facility to further her success in her ultimate goal of becoming happy and healthy once again.
