If you do not know what Coachella is, you’ve been living under a rock for the past decade. This event is contrived of music, games, food, and every celebrity you can think of. People flock from all different counties, states, and even countries to go to this music festival located Indio, CA. Coachella is more than just a festival, it’s a melting pot of different members of society, gathered under one sun, celebrating the most recent trends and popular music. Tickets range from hundred to thousands of dollars, which is part of what makes the event so exclusive.
2019’s lineup consisted of some of the biggest names in the music industry. Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino, Janelle Monae, Diplo, Anderson Paak, Sheck Wes, Bad Bunny, Playboi Carti and Weezer are just some of the most memorable artists. These artist spent months perfecting their acts ensuring the audience received an experience of a lifetime.
Billie Eilish also performed her new album, When we all Fall Asleep Where Do we Go. Social media was buzzing with excitement and applause as it was the first time she performed this album, and the fans fell in love. From the rock-based songs like Bad Guy and Bury a Friend, to her more heartfelt songs like Ocean Eyes and I Love You, her eerie voice and unique fashion sense made her set more than just a series of songs, but a performance of a lifetime. Coachella is where Eilish graduated from opening in small clubs to headlining at one of the biggest festivals in the world. A listers such as Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato and Bruno Mars took to social media to show their support for the 17 year old sensation.
Kid Cudi was another set that festival goers waited all day to see. Cudi performed on the main stage, along with the rest of the headliners. The second weekend, Cudi brought out his dear friend and album partner Kanye West. They played various songs from their album Kid See Ghosts, and Father Stretch my Hands Pt.1 from Kanye’s album, The Life of Pablo. The two energized the crowd while singing their upbeat collection of songs, dedicating their performance to deceased rappers Nipsey Hussle and Mac Miller.
The next day, Kanye West performed solo. The act resembled a Sunday service, using a real choir and orchestra. His gospel performance was for Easter Sunday on the second weekend of the festival. Kanye played an unreleased song called Everything We Need.
